Jay Z's "Letterman Concert" Approved

There had been rumors of Jay Z throwing a surprise concert in Times Square. Well the rumor is no longer a rumor, it's now happening. With the release of his upcoming album Magna Carta Holy Grail on July 4th, four more days after that he will host a huge concert which will take place on the marquee of the Late Show With David Letterman on July 8th. Jay will also appear on the show. The performance is expected to require city officials to shut down the area surrounding the Theater, which sits on Broadway near 53rd Street just north of Times Square. Hov had previously wanted to perform on the marquee in 2010 alongside Eminem, but was unable to get permission from Bloomberg’s office, and had to move the show to the roof of the building, which does not require a city permit.
