TMB: So first off, tell us a little about yourself to those who may be unfamiliar.
M$NEY: What's good I'm kent money a 24 year old rapper from Norfolk va by way of southern ca my music is a reflection of me never forced I just love to make great music
TMB: What is the meaning behind your covert art for "Eyes Wide Shut"? Its a dope ass picture but the concept may be a little confusing.
M$NEY: The meaning is a lot of people take what they see and explain it as if its the truth but everything is hear say unless you hear it from the source perception is everything so the art reflects that
TMB: If I'm not mistaken, you spent a few years in prison, how has your life changed ever since you got out?
M$NEY: Yea prison was not a great experience but it was necessary in my lifes plan I don't really do too much questioning of events in my life I just know it kept me away from what could have been worst in my life so I would say its all for the better everything is based on how you view it
TMB: The "God Bless" track is one of my personal favorites & the video seems to touch a real sensitive subject. Can you explain the visual a little bit ?
M$NEY: The visual is explaining how a lot of people are torn between what they know and what they chose not to know but you being that person in the situation no matter what it may be always have to be fully aware so it's where taking accountability yet making making mistakes clash what better way to make it extra dramatic than using church it's only right
TMB: So from the prison, to being on a track with Ross, Casey Veggies, Raekwon, Schoolboy Q...I mean damn that must be an amazing feeling huh? Those are some real iconic figures to those of us who are real fans of hip hop.
M$NEY: Yea it's a dope feeling man a lot of legends on that track and soon to be legends it's crazy when your young and know all these people's songs then you actually end up on the same track man everything is possible
TMB: If you could get anybody on a track, dead or alive, who would it be & why?
M$NEY: Biggie I would love to tell a story or have a Brooklyn's finest moment like Jay had with him the tones and understanding rap would make it timeless
TMB: You're incredibly blessed to be living this muzik life with people you knew way before this rap shit, what made you & the HS87 family decide to pursue this career & what does HS87 mean?
M$NEY: We all love music, & HS87 is Hit-Boys label with audio push and k rose signed to it i got to watch everyone grow which is dope nice to see and be a part of everyone rising together
TMB: The surfclub, can you explain that a little more for us? Maybe other members & how it started?
M$NEY: The surf club consists of hit-boy chase n cashe BCarr chili Chil Stacy Barthe money makin Matt young Ry and myself it was started by chili Chil and BCarr a while back and we all came together as time went along its our brotherhood family always and we all make incredible music in my opinion we all have dope visions and understand each other
TMB: What is your view on government conspiracies & religion?
M$NEY: No matter what the government is always gonna be up to something I just feel like control what you can the idea of a perfect world is nice but wasn't meant so I try not to involve myself in it as far as constantly wondering who's conspiring against the American people I have to start with me as a person first. Religiously I see it as praise who you praise if that's what you find comfort in do so I applaud it I'm religious myself I don't force it on anyone but I respect everyones choices
TMB: What was the significance in putting Obama's voice on that "Patience" track?
M$NEY: It was pretty much my way of saying no matter how excited you are about change its not all the way on you time plays a major factor as well and who better to paint that image than the president speaking on just that patience
TMB: Wrapping it up, you have any shout outs? Give us a heads up on more muzik or what's next for Kent M$NEY?
M$NEY: Shout out to the whole lions league surf club hs87 all work more pay crew I'm already working on new music to put out when that sun isnt coming out as often working on more stuff over at my merch/clothing brand www.lionsleaguecloth.com and more visuals and get me to your cities for those #EyesWideShut shows booking at surfclubkm@gmail just more of me.
